This One-Day Workshop tailored for individuals engaged in non-invasive activities, emphasizing on-foot work with minimal disruption to road users. The workshop features theory sessions in the morning and practical tasks on Cat A and B roads in the afternoon
The Inspectors Role & Course Overview
Undertake inspection activities on all roads, excluding the lane of high-speed multi-lane roads (Cat C).
Conduct roadside activities on roads with permanent speeds of 60km/h or less (Cat A).
Engage in non-invasive activities where workers are on foot, performing simple tasks with minimal interference with road users
Tasks suitable for completion as inspection activities include observation, using a measuring wheel, traffic counts, installing traffic count equipment, road maintenance activities (such as litter removal, sign cleaning, edge marker cleaning, or photography), and completing TTM audits.
Note: Consider the TMO Practicing Qualification or the STMS Cat A/B Practicing Qualification if:
Conducting more complex activities or those where a person cannot immediately move off the live lane on approach of a vehicle (requiring a more substantial mobile or static closure).
Regularly involved in the installation of TTM closures on Cat A/B roads, including inspections/non-invasive work, making you ineligible for the Inspector Qualification.

Intended for individuals needing access to the road corridor without setting up static worksites.
May be suitable for those performing a small number of inspections annually, without the need for the STMS Non-Practicing or Practicing Qualification.
Pre-requisites
No prerequisites are required for this workshop and there are no unit standards for this qualification.
